Imported my dog to Japan

Hi! I recently imported my dog to Japan and received the import certificate from Animal Quarantine, which says I need to register my dog at the local office within 30 days.

I’m confused if:

• city hall dog registration

• microchip registration

are two separate things/process?

My dog already has an ISO microchip used for import.
