When planning my trip, every piece of advice I saw said, "Don't bring your big backpack. Luggage transfer is the best thing ever. " My experience so far has left me disappointed. Due to a delayed flight, I got to Narita airport late & missed the cut-off for next day delivery, so I ended up stuck with my stupid wheelie bag through several Tokyo area sations. Today, I'm heading off to Hakone & my accommodation simply won't accept a luggage transfer & since I don't have a Japanese address, I can't send it to a convenience store. So far, I'm 0 for 2 with attempts to luggage forward & really missing my travel pack. Has anyone got some useful tips on luggage transfer, or am I just doomed to wheelie bag hell?
