Early morning rides through quiet streets.
A small family of three, each heading toward our own little destination.
Some mornings are sunny and calm.
Some evenings are filled with soft river wind and golden light.
Over time, bicycles quietly became part of our daily life in Kyoto.
Not just transportation, but a rhythm we somehow grew to love. 🚲

Super rad. Well done.
I just ordered my son a new bike for his upcoming fifth birthday. Gotta get mama on board and hopefully be doing what you’ve got going on.
Be careful about the new bicycle laws, too. Helmets are also good for safety!
Only a Kyoto-Tourist, but fully second: the perfect way to discover the city is by bike.
Getting from west to east or east to west is super easy on a bicycle. But going from south to north is a nightmare—it’s all uphilllll…
Please wear helmets for your and your son’s safety, please drive reasonable speeds on shared walkways for everybody else’s safety.
As a European tourist I have no idea how Japan of all places is getting this so wrong.
Not supposed to ride bicycle on the sidewalk according to the new regulations.
I was looking for ways to travel with two wheelers for sightseeing

I’m glad to hear there bycicles are options in Kyoto.
Watch out for those crazy taxi drivers
i spent a few days cycling in kyoto and my lasting memory was how flat everything was. where i normally live has hills everywhere and it makes cycling much less fun
You should wear helmets!!! What happens if you fall or get hit by a car? Don’t want to leave your kid alone, right?? Jeez.
We were 3 weeks ago in Kyoto, rented a cargo bike with a kids seat for my 6 year old and an e-bike for my wife. It was an amazing day discovering the city.
