I witnessed a small Kyoto market stall suddenly explode in sales because of a Taiwanese livestreamer

Today at a flea market in Kyoto, I noticed something really interesting.

One small stall suddenly became crowded with tourists, mostly from Taiwan.

At first I assumed they simply had better products.

But after watching for a while, I realized a Taiwanese livestreamer was introducing every item live while explaining the cultural meanings behind them.

People weren’t just buying souvenirs anymore.

They were buying a Kyoto experience.

By the end of the day, I heard the stall had made over ¥160,000 in sales.

It honestly made me realize how important storytelling has become in travel culture, especially in places like Kyoto.
