Solo trip to Okinawa

Konnichiwa minasan!

I’m planning my first ever solo trip to Japan, and I decided on Okinawa. I’ve never done a solo trip before, and I’ve never been to Japan either, so I’m both excited and nervous.

I chose Okinawa because I prefer beaches, countryside vibes, and a slower pace instead of big cities. I’ll most likely be travelling around mid-September from either Malaysia or Singapore (still deciding).

At the moment, I haven’t planned much yet, so I would love to hear recommendations and ideas from you guys so I can build my itinerary around them.

I’ll mainly be using public transport and occasionally taxis.

Things I’d love to do:

Visit bars and meet new people
Go to beaches
Try snorkelling or diving
Sightseeing and exploring local culture
Experience local food and everyday life

I’m also still deciding whether I should stay in Naha for the whole week or split the trip and stay in another area/city for a few days.

Would really appreciate any advice, recommendations, or tips for a first-time solo traveller in Okinawa!

Arigatou 🙂
