Worst/most disappointing city in Japan you’ve been to

Worst /Most disappointing city in Japan you've been to?

I'll start:

Nagoya: I was a bit disappointed. The vibe seemed a bit off. Sterile, eerie, not much to do. Definitely not a tourist focused city, and I can see why.

Sendai: Although I liked the airport, general cleanliness, and size, there wasn't much to do. I felt locals staring at me, as if to say "what are you eve doing here?". And I asked myself the same thing). The main station is also super busy and stressful, crowds like Tokyo.

Osaka: parts of it are very ugly, grey and dirty (by Japan standards). A lot of smokers, not even respecting the no smoking signs. Namba station is a massive cortisol spike with crowds of people coming at you in all directions and a maze to get in and out. Dotonbori is packed and you can barely walk with all the people in front. Not the worst city, but don't think I'd come back.

I'm not just a moaner, BTW. In case your wondering, my favourites are:

Kyoto: (site overtouristed, but beautiful and upbeat vibe).

Sapporo: (nice nature, chill city and perfectly sized).

Asahikawa: (Incredibly peaceful, great parks, transport links, food, not crowded at all)

Nara: (relaxed and good vibe, touristy but not overly so, very nice parks)
