Hi! I am looking for cozy places (like specific cafes) where I can practice drawing near Umeda/Namba during weekends. I know I could go to a random cafe, but I would like to stay there for ~8 hours. Also I do not want to look performative, but I do not have any space for this in my room so staying in my room for this is not possible either 🙁
Thanks!
EDIT: Thank you everyone for the kind suggestions! I will take a look at them 🙂

Probably some of those coworking spaces?
That or could be more comfortable just going to the park or by the beach
From a Japanese perspective, spending eight hours in a café just to draw is clearly a nuisance to the staff.
And all for the selfish reason that you don’t have enough space in your own room to draw. I suppose you only have enough room to sleep standing up.
I’d recommend the park for someone like you.
If you don’t mind the weather, above Osaka station is pretty chill.
Libraries! Look for libraries near you, some are quite new, spacious, and very nice to spend time in. Most don’t allow drinks or food unless they are in a bottle or tumbler, though some have a small outdoor area where this might be OK. The Nakka museum also has benches you can use and a rest area that you can sit down in if you like the floor.
Before it gets too hot there are benches with tables around Nakanoshima and the Kaze-no-hiroba in Umeda. Crysta Nagahori also has seating areas (meant for short sit-downs or customers from nearby stores) in the underground area. Furthermore, if you want cozy, go further away from Umeda/Namba as these are often full of people on the weekends.
That said, ~8 hours is a long time, more reasonable for both the attention span and the cafe is staying for 1-2 hours, taking a break, and coming back for 1-2 hours again. I also hate spending “rent” for using cafe space, so most of my suggestions are for free at the expense of ambiance and vibes. I sympathize a lot with not having enough space in your own room to draw.

I can tell you where this table is, but it’s not that easy to get to
The Bottom food court of the Grand Green. Great place to people watch and sketch. Seconded a the top level of Osaka Station and also the mid level above the train tracks where the cafe is. It’s a great place with astroturf.
I run a paint club, and we’re always looking at spots to paint and sketch when it’s rainy and these are decent enough places.
Namba Parks
Above the tracks of the Umeda Hankyu station.
This specific Tully’s location is a place that I spend a few hours at once a week. I imagine it is a great spot to sketch all of the trains coming in and out and to capture all the hustle of the crowds. Mikunigaoka Station is oddly enough pretty solid for something like this. The top floor of the station is a nice viewing spot, and you can borrow a table for as long as you want. If you get tired, you can always just go to Daisen Park to get refreshed, rest, and get inspired. Highly recommend if you haven’t been here before
kitahama and nakanoshima have plenty of outdoor seating and even a swanky library.
With the hot weather incoming, try hanging out by the cinemas at Parco (cant remember if 9th or 10th flr or etc).
