Hello Reddit,
I’m a computer engineer and I just came across the [point calculation table](https://www.lb.emb-japan.go.jp/Points-Based-Immigration-Treatment.PDF) for HSP visa.
It mentions holder of foreign work-related qualification, etc. may earn 5 points. Do you know which certifications or qualifications are considered valid for this, especially for IT ?
e.g. Cisco CCNA or CCNP, ITIL, AWS, CKA, or Microsoft etc…
I searched and there does not seem to be much information online regarding this.
So if anyone earned points for their HSP visa or PR through a foreign qualification I would be glad if you could share your experience !

The point table says to look at note 4 which points to a link that should presumably explain the details. Have you taken a look?
I don’t have the link to the list in hand, but basically none of the IT certs are on it.
I think you mean the thing like if you’re a licensed chartered accountant, or have a bar card somewhere or something. I don’t think it’s just for IT industry certifications, which aren’t really regulated.

I want you to know, I spent like an hour looking for this, because I **knew** I’d been able to find it before. This is the so-called “IT Notice”, and it is pretty much 100% Asia-specific qualifications.
HOWEVER, that’s not to say it’s useless to you. Several of the tests are offered in English, such as the PhilNITS exam, and if you take a look at them, a qualified software developer will be able to pass without needing to study (https://www.itpec.org/pastexamqa/fe.html).
