PSA! Strangers Asking Favors from Those with SOFA Status

PSA for those with SOFA status and on-base amenities access

We get it! You want to be friendly and kind to strangers. But please remember that you are responsible for anyone you allow access to the base. If something goes wrong, YOU will be held accountable for everything done wrong by a stranger. The base is secured for a reason.

I’ve seen some sketchy people requesting sketchy stuff on here and on Facebook. This is what I've witnessed around after the pandemic
– Someone had their commissary and BX access revoked after letting the wrong person in.
– Another sponsor left their guests roaming around when they were supposed to be escorted 100% of the time. The result? They and their family lost the privilege of escorting anyone.

The same goes for P.O. box access. Don’t be another poor soul who’s just “helping out.”

Bottom line: Don’t trust anyone to “use” base access unless they are family or trustworthy friends.

  1. Paranoid much?

No one wants the moldy expensive junk from the commissary anyways.

  2. It’s real… I saw posts on Facebook communities asking SOFA people to help them get on base for the Christmas concerts annnnnnnd I guess someone did get caught cuz husband got a squadron-wide PSA 🙃

  3. And don’t think if you’re a contractor you can get away with this. Your SOFA status will be revoked then you are unemployed.
