I live in Tokyo. My cousin lives in the US. We are planning a one-week motorcycle trip around Okinawa and most of the nights we will be camping on free beaches with a couple of hostel stays thrown into the mix. We will definitely be producing garbage on our camp-outs, such as food packages, beer cans or whiskey bottles, etc. We can't really let that accumulate and carry it on our motorcycles. I'm guessing the beaches will have "please take your trash home" signs, but we don't have a home on Okinawa, and I don't really think it would be fair to dump it all in our hostels if and when we choose that route.
Are there any locations, free or paid, where we can dump our trash without being a nuisance? I'm thinking maybe Michi no Eki, but I don't know if that's even a thing on Okinawa.

I’m from Australia, and when I visited Okinawa a few years back the local convenience stores (like 7/11) had bins specifically for rubbish. Perhaps you could keep an eye out for those as you travel?
