Tsukemono at Mikawaya Ryokan. Hakone, Japan

Anyone know if oshinko is the more accurate term for this, or tsukemono? I've had the difference explained to me in Japan by a Japanese woman and I've looked it up, but still not clear 'cause I'm dense. I think the nice lady said oshinko is always vegetables and tsukemono can be other pickled things. Among other things.
