One Week in Okinawa | Exploring Local History and Culture

  1. Back in November, I was lucky enough to spend a week in Okinawa. I spent some time reading up on the history (the Speak, Okinawa and Okinawa graphic novel were both especially enlightening) before going and dove deeper into it and the culture throughout my week. I was especially moved by the bunker museum in Naha and my time spent in Yanbaru National Park with a shaman.

    As with any trip, there’s so much I didn’t get to touch on that I wish I had time for. But I hope this little video does the island some justice.

  2. Great cinematography, nice transitions and timing, amazing b-roll, thoughtful narration, good use of Ken Burns effect on the Mathew Perry lithographs, keep up the good work!
