Pre-Show- Yuji Nagata, Satoshi Kojima, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, def Daiki Nagai, Katsuya Murashima, Shoma Kato — (8:53, Nagata Lock II)
-
We get an announcement of the full card, a change from last year’s Dash. I think part of it was to tamper expectations, because there are no surprises besides Alex Zayne in the semi-main (which makes me think they’ve finally signed him).
-
Special Exhibition Match- Boltin Oleg vs Josh Barnett — (Time Limit Draw, 5:00)
-
This was set up by their interaction in the Ranbo, and the challenge was made during the Backstage Comments for that match.
-
Post-match, Barnett says this was a test which Boltin has passed. Oleg is moving up, and Barnett will make him a Champion someday.
-
Boltin says sorry, his English is not good. In Japanese he says he’s glad to have been able to have this match and praises Barnett and his teachings.
-
Jakob Austin Young, Francesco Akira, TJP, Great-O-Khan def Jado, Master Wato, Tomoaki Honma, Shota Umino, El Phantasmo — (10:50, Eliminator)
-
Shota Umino’s entrance is met with near silence. Not boos, just silence. He slaps hands with fans but they are not as eagerly trying to do so as in the past.
-
O-Khan and Shota start. Pre-lockup crowd poll has Shota getting some support, but it’s 95% for O-Khan. Shota’s first bit of big offense does get a positive reaction.
-
Jeff Cobb and TJP have some interesting interactions during the match. Cobb also indicates he’s looking at ELP and the TV title, as he wasn’t the one pinned during that match.
-
The crowd did warm to Shota more as the match went on.
-
Post-match, O-Khan attacks Shota on the outside. He then grabs the two fan-made titles and rips them up. An incensed Shota attacks him, but United Empire make the save and beat him down.
-
Shota jumps O-Khan during his Backstage Comments, but O-Khan comes out on top of the scuffle and once again mocks and rips up his fan-made belts.
-
Yoshinonu Kanemaru, SHO, Yujiro Takahashi, Ren Narita def Tiger Mask, Togi Makabe, Toru Yano, Hiroshi Tanahashi — (7:47, pinfall [after a NEVER belt shot])
-
No EVIL or Dick with the House during their entrance. In his WK Backstage Comments, EVIL said he was “done with this company.”
-
Narita and Tanahashi start, but before they can lock up SHO and Nobu jump Tana from behind and we have a brief period of House domination.
-
Yujiro hits Tiger with one of the NEVER 6 titles to set up the pin.
-
Post-match, HoT try to continue the attack with the titles but Boltin Oleg comes out to send them scattering; but the titles are still in the grasp of the House. SHO cuts a promo taunting the Champs.
-
In their Backstage Comments, Makabe says he wants one last singles match with Tana before the latter retires. Tana accepts.
-
Backstage Comments also reveal that the Torturers gunning for the NEVER 6s are SHO, Yujiro, and Ren.
-
Clark Connors, SANADA def TAKATaichi (TAKA Michinoku, Taichi) — (9:23, Skull End)
-
TAKATaichi jump the Dogs during their entrance, but once they make it to the ring and the match starts Clark has the advantage over TAKA.
-
Post-match, SANADA pops a can of Sapporo and pours it on TAKA. Taichi tries to pursue the Dogs as they leave but is held back by the Young Lions.
-
In his Backstage Comments, Taichi and MCR again challenges SANADA to a singles match.
-
KUSHIDA, El Desperado def KENTA, Taiji Ishimori — (9:07, Hoverboard Lock)
-
ICYMI, during the Dynasty backstage comments KUSHIDA was nominated by TAKESHITA for a NEVER title match at BitV on the 11th. This match is confirmed via an on-screen graphic during the main event.
-
Post-match, KUSHIDA starts to cut a promo accepting the Take match, but Ishimori interrupts him to formally challenge Despe for the Junior title since he pinned him to win last night’s Lucha Gauntlet.
-
Despe accepts. His music plays but he tells the production team to play KUSHIDA’s instead since he was the one who got the pin. This match is also confirmed, for BitV and not New Beginning like one would assume, during the main event match.
-
KUSHIDA and Despe have some words about their history together, which was mostly them being on opposite sides and included Despe hitting KUSHI with a guitar.
-
KENTA’s Backstage Comments suggest that he may now be done with NJPW.
-
BUSHI, Titan, Shingo Takagi, Yota Tsuji def Gedo, Drilla Moloney, Gabe Kidd, David Finlay — (12:01, Llave Inmortal)
-
Gabe is back to his regular trunks. He’s still getting big cheers from the crowd, and it’s a louder reaction than Finlay gets.
-
Walker Stewart essentially tells us that there’s probably some War Dogs changes coming because of Finlay’s loss. He also hints at some changes with CHAOS in the main event.
-
Tsuji and Finlay start. Finlay throws his shirt at Tsuji, he’s working very heel today.
-
Eventually we get Tsuji and Gabe facing off. After a strike exchange, Tsuji ties his hair up to show he’s serious and the two have a chop battle.
-
BUSHI and Titan work as a team in the closing stretch, might end up as Jr Title challengers during FantasticaMania (the Champs are already booked for New Beginning).
-
Post-match, Gabe and Tsuji have words and Tsuji holds up his Global title.
-
Drilla grabs a mic and declares he’s now a heavyweight, and challenges Shingo Takagi to a future match.
-
Finlay just kind of disappeared mid-way through the match, and did not leave with Gabe and Drilla.
-
Hiromu Takahashi [NISAOkun version], Tetsuya Naito [entrance shacket & T-shirt Naito version] def Ryusuke Taguchi, Alex Zayne — (8:36, Destino)
-
Towards the end of the match, Naito spits in Zayne’s face and the audience reacts with mostly boos. He also pulls Alex’s hair, which is met with less boos.
-
The Destino gets a reaction but Naito actually getting the pin does not. The winner’s announcement gets polite applause.
-
Post-match Naito promo. He and Hiromu didn’t win the Tag titles in the 3-way at the Tokyo Dome, but they also weren’t pinned. So they want another shot in a straight 2v2 match. Naito assumes the new Champs the Young Bucks aren’t watching right now, so he’ll be waiting for their answer. This got a decent enough reaction.
-
Rocky Romero, YOH, YOSHI-HASHI, Hirooki Goto def Kosei Fujita, Robbie Eagles, Ryohei Oiwa, Zack Sabre Jr. — (18:34, Ground Cobra Twist)
-
YOH and Fujita start off. YOH affectionately taunts Fujita, who had kissed him multiple times during their Jr Tag Title contract signing during the WK Backstage Comments. The flirt-taunts continue in the opening moments, including Fujita kissing YOH’s forehead.
-
At one point all four TMDK members have a submission locked in each of poor Tacos’ limbs.
-
The closing moments of the match are Ichiban Sweet Boys and their next challengers, and YOH and Rocky come out on top after some great tag moves and despite a bit of missed communication.
-
Post-match, Zack and Goto and Oiwa and YOSHI-HASHI exchange verbal and physical jabs. Oiwa and Tacos progress to a full-on brawl all the way to the back.
-
YOH gets a mic and tells the brawlers to go away. Then CHAOS enter the ring and he continues cutting a victory promo, again confirming he and Rocky will challenge for the Jr Tag titles and saying 2025 will be CHAOS’ year, before passing the mic to Goto.
-
Goto says he has a guaranteed IWGP WHC match, and he wants it at New Beginning in Osaka.
