I don’t like deep frying but once a year or so I suddenly crave Korokke(Croquettes) and each time I think “maybe I will try an easier/healthier way like air-frying or baking or ageyaki” and then remember last time I did that, it’s hard flipping them since the sides tend to be still soft, but by the next time my craving comes I forget and do it all over again lol
Today I tried ageyaki (I guess best translation is shallow frying) since it sounded quick with just 3 minutes on each side, and managed to flip them all ok using a spatula (I think last time I stupidly used the saibashi I use for deep frying and was surprised as how soft it was)
I had one as a snack and will warm a few up in the toaster oven later for dinner once my husband is home and freeze the rest. It’s not as crispy as deep frying but hits the spot 🙂
Currently debating whether I should eat a second one now or wait until dinner…

Extra points if you used sunflower oil. Otherwise the plate makes no sense.
A “コッraving” if you will
It looks so delicious! (Even the plate is cute!)
I like putting croquettes on curry rice or curry udon.
Hell yeah! Made salmon croquettes yesterday. Such a good dish.
