Well they finally put the heaters on in the train here. And thank goodness they did. As an adult I can’t dress appropriately, so my choice of shorts and tshirt on this warm day is no longer a mistake.
Thank you for deciding my comfort level, train overlords.
I tried this slushy ice-cream with apple flavor from a famous brand sold in the supermarkets and it tasted like vomit I was shocked. I googled in Japanese if anyone has the same opinion but apparently they think it is tasteless. 🥲
I work at a junior high school and I saw a stick of deodorant today. Like real deodorant, Old Spice. Holy shit the future is here.
Has anybody gotten solar panels recently? We had a long talk with a vendor on Sunday and we’re really on the fence about whether it’s worth it or not to get them. The projection they have makes it look like on average we’d be adding about ¥4000/month onto our monthly bills (montly loan amount – what we wouldn’t pay in electricity and whatever we get from selling the surplus), but adding a brand new loan for ~500万円 when we just started a mortgage is a bit intimidating. (Not to mention that our car isn’t going to last forever, &c., &c…)
Any experience or advice would be appreciated. We also haven’t talked with any other vendors yet, so I have no idea if the prices they quoted are weapons grade horse shit or not.
Is it possible to get a job as a tea practitioner in Japan? I’m a chado student in my country and I want to get a job that revolves it.
Honestly speaking, seriously looking for new perspectives on careers in Japan. Feeling very stuck in a rut and would welcome stories on career change, long term salary growth, and feeling fulfilled at work.
