Good men’s barber in Tokyo under ¥5,000?

I just moved to Tokyo and I’m looking for a good barber or salon for men that’s under ¥5,000. Preferably not one of those super quick ¥1,000 cuts, but still affordable and does a clean job.

  1. My barber is 5500¥ and he’s worth every penny and educated abroad and just great. Being a barber here pays well. He also speaks good English.

  2. According to the 2018 UN census, Tokyo is the largest city in the entire fucking world.

Lol. There are 1,400 baber shops in Tokyo. Not even counting kanto or even Tokyo-to.

  3. Many salons have a graduated pricing policy based on stylist experience and “expertise,”so it’s up to you if you wanna buy into that system and can fit a particular one into your budget whose results you like. Also depends on where you’re located in Tokyo, as it’s a sprawling megalopolis.

If in Koto-ku, not far east of Ginza and Nihombashi, I like Infinity salon at their Kiyosumi Shirakawa branch, located near the junction of the Oedo and Hanzomon lines. A bit over your budget, as men’s haircuts start at ¥6,600, but I’ve found them to be pretty good amid the sea of hair salons across the city, and that’s the going rate for a decent enough haircut in 2025, at least per my standards and preferences. https://infinity-hair.net/free/kiyosumishirakawa

  4. Cut & Go in Hibiya. I recomend Yuya, he is great at his job and can give you recomendations. Also suoer friendly and speaks English.
Last time he charged me 4,200 yen.

  5. honestly 5k is tough for anything decent. maybe try checking tabelog reviews for local spots near your station.

  6. Completely reasonable request and English barbers I noticed are usually overpriced charging ¥5000 for a simple 30 min cut. My go to place is Wolt in Koenji. Owner lived in the UK, speaks English and charges ¥2100 for a 30 min cut.
