It’s been a hot decade or two since I last went but the missus and I went to RoyHo the other day for brekkie. It was nothing fancy–just a simple eggs, sausage and toast set but it hit the spot.
On Monday I got the results to Kanji Kentei and I passed level pre 2. It feels like so long ago that I learned the results. The joy of passing is just a fleeting moment as a new challenge takes its place.
Time to study for level 2.
HR tells us that our nenmatsu chousei is now AI assisted; apparently, meaning that Freee has enabled an OCR module on their webserver.
Japan is rapidly moving into the computer age!
Free persimmons. I think I already ate 100 pieces.
Got my visa extension postcard after two weeks from applying, now I just need to avoid any bullshit till I can apply for PR in January, also this year our mikan tree harvest was around 140 something mikans, Vitamin C city
38 days of PTO. Time to relax before starting the new job.
Great weather to eat lunch outside.
An older couple approached me asking for directions at Tokyo Station last evening and I did the Japanese thing of guiding them to where they needed to go. Turns out they were a nice married couple visiting from Hong Kong.
While doing some small talk with them the husband asked how long I’ve been in Japan and after answering him he responded with ” So your ニホンゴ must be quite ジョウズ by now.”
It gave me a genuine laugh.
Also, I told my 5 year old daughter I really like it when she speaks to me in English more instead of Japanese. She’s been regularly trying to respond in English as a result these days.
Sent car in for repair and had to scramble for a month long rental. Found a place that delivered the car next day, a little kei box car for a total of 1500 yen a day, insurance/ETC reader/navi/dash cam included. Very clean and runs well.
Times like these I realize how much I take for granted with things being affordable and convenient in this country.
