Recently moved to the Tokyo area but will be moving back to the US after just a few years. I'm in need of a rice cooker and kind of want to call out with a really nice one. Would it make sense to get a Japanese model? Or should I buy a US market rice cooker to be shipped here? What would the differences be?
Would also love model recommendations, there's so many!

For most electronics nowdays the difference in voltage/frequency is irrelevant, they’re built with enough wiggle room it doesn’t matter. Buy the one you want.
US rice cookers are crap.
Buy a Japanese one that has voltage compatibility with US.
Japanese one. Made for this market, better quality, compatible with voltage here, etc.
Everyone in the US that knows rice tries to import a Japanese one (or get a Japanese brand). I see no need to do the reverse.
Get a Zojirushi, a nice one.
Another vote for Zojirushi
