Japanese govt. Is making a Chutia( look it up) out of us [RANT]

These folks have increased the renewal fee, which is fine, but the stated justification is egregious. They claim it is to fund the deportation cost of illegal immigrants. Why are we liable to pay for those illegal immigrants? This justification will start a chain reaction, and it also indicates how these folks, overall, just want to blame us for everything that’s happening in this country. Someone farts? "Oh, it must be that foreigner!" .I'M DONE. I can't see myself living here for the long term. Good luck, Japan, finding skilled folks. Younger Japanese folks aren't that smart these days thanks to their laziness. The lack of finding the right talent is a headache as it is. Good luck, businesses, and good luck, economy. 1. First time overseas? almost everywhere is doing the same thing to foreigners. Easy to blame. No matter where u go, its the same.

  2. It’s a bit ironic how you dislike lumping all foreigners together, then immediately accusing all young japanese people of being lazy. Otherwise, I agree the situation has become very demotivating. It also makes me feel singled out and targeted when I pay the same taxes as everyone and I abide by cultural norms. We’re all just people trying to live our lives. Being a white guy in Canada, I never experienced rasicm first hand, but I have a lot of native friends that tell me stories about what it’s like. People fucking suck.

  3. The cost increase isn’t great news, but it isn’t that difference, cost-wise, than my home country and god knows everything else is getting expensive. I don’t agree with the reason either, but in the grand scheme of things there are way worse changes that could be happening. If it’s enough for you to leave the country over, then that is certainly your right. All the best.

  4. All foreigners being targeted by all Japanese sucks. You’re right to leave, all of us can’t accept being discredited by all those people. They’re all the same, thinking we’re all the same.

  5. When do the new fees take effect? I was in the immigration bureau last Tuesday, there was no notification of an increase

  6. The fee increase is absolutely unreasonable. Legal residents shouldn’t be financially responsible for illegal immigration enforcement. That’s a policy failure. You need to remember though: younger Japanese people are often overworked, socially constrained, and educationally tracked into rote learning, and lazy is not the word I’d use. If anything, they suffer from structural inertia and low socioeconomic mobility, not laziness. They really don’t have control over their future, so they think they should be above someone. Foreigners become the psychological release valve and which is even sadder, because if Japan really wants to survive demographically and economically, it will need foreign residents

  7. I never understood the use of whining on internet. Is your life so empty that you have no friend to talk about it? Just leave, take measures. Don’t go being the same kind of person spreading hate about foreigners on internet. Those people that feel entitled to complain and complain and complain… you are all what you hate.

  8. The good news is that when they run off all the foreigners, they’re still going to have to face a collapsing…everything…because they fixed nothing.

  9. First it was the bears having no food because the foreigners are eating it all. Now this.
