Simple Japanese Home-Cooked Meal from an Old Country House – Miso Soup & Miso-Simmered Mackerel

I live in an old traditional Japanese house in the countryside, and I love cooking simple homemade meals using seasonal ingredients.

Today’s lunch was a very typical Japanese home-style menu:
• Miso soup with daikon and homemade miso
• Miso-simmered mackerel (Saba no Misoni)
• Tamagoyaki with aonori
• Brown rice
• A small vegetable side dish

I grew up eating meals like these, and now I enjoy sharing this quiet, slow lifestyle with others.
Even in a humble kitchen, making miso soup from scratch feels grounding and comforting.

If you enjoy Japanese home cooking or want to see more country-life meals, I’d be happy to share more!
