This thread is for all the simple questions (what does that mean?) and minor posts that don't need their own thread, as well as for first-time posters who can't create new threads yet. Feel free to share anything on your mind.

    context: Two characters speaking. A doctor and the patient who are also old friends. The doctor tells the patient to stop drinking so much, and the advice is ignored. And then the patient, referring to the doctor as his old friend, says the line above.

    I just can’t figure out what this means in general but I’m particularly confused about 手を待て. Both in how it’s written (待って -> 待て (?)) but also the meaning of 手を待つ

  2. Apologies if I already asked this before, but do you really NEED to go through a starter deck like Kaishi 1.5K? I estimate I already know about 500 words from other places like Duolingo, classes I took some time ago and textbooks, so I don’t really feel the immediate benefit.
