Hey all, my wife and I have started looking for a new used car
We both have been looking for several months on and off to get some inspiration. One of the dealers my wife found was Buddica. Does anyone know this dealer and do you have any experience with them? Are they legit or scammy-ish? What other dealerships do you recommend? Preferably one that we can visit (in Tokyo)
As for the car, we are currently driving a 10+ year old Mitsubishi Sedan and we want to continue to drive a Sedan. For my wife, resale value is important (for some reason). Our search is for a car of around 5 years old, not TOO much mileage, and a good reliable brand, and our budget is a max of 200 man. In a few years, we hope to get our child little halfbreed so a sedan car should be big enough.
Many of you will recommend like a family car or a car with sliding doors, but we will save that for when we have our second child.
Though we have some ideas for a car and we will be visiting the Buddica dealership soon, I was hoping some of you could share some insights into your experience with (new) used cars and what car brand sedan style would you recommend.
Many thanks
edit
Thank you all for the tips and advice. I will talk with my wife regarding the whole resale thing. We will be trying for kids end of this year so hopefully we get an いっぱつ.
I'll take a look at the websites/dealers recommended.
Thank you all so much.

Read goo-net or carsensor reviews if you want to know if a dealer is any good or not.
As for the car, not that many sedan models around these days. If you know you’re gonna have kids you could just get a Sienta from the get-go. Reliable and retains its value.
Buddica is a pretty big chain these days. Can’t be any worse than Big Motor aka We Cars. Their CEO has his own YouTube channel. 中野優作 / CAR and LIFE.
Resale on most sedans will be terrible, outside of a Toyota crown and you’ll not find a 5 year crown for 200 man.
An Impreza g4 would be in budget, but I think the hatchback is more useful. Most Subarus come fairly well kitted out with eyesight lane keep assist, adaptive cruise, leather wheel, 17 or 18 inch alloy wheels. Just don’t get the 1.6 as it’s deathly slow.
Mazda made their 3 in a sedan version but it too is quite rare. Avoid the 2.2 diesel.
I see some Honda insight in your price range, 1.5 turbo. Looks like a lot of car for the money.
Also avoid European cars.
I watch Buddica on YouTube. Pretty interesting. IMO makes them trustworthy, although you may not agree with some of their opinions
**Universe** sells almost any car, and they have a huge lot (500+ cars, most clean) somewhere in Chiba City. They sell secondary warranties and often have relationships with dealerships that will do the warranty work.
As far as resale value, not in Japan. Mitsubishi has had too many scandals, fumbled a potential relationship with Honda, and is not really known for quality. The only cars that hold their value to some extent are most Lexus models.
Just want to say that kids aren’t 100% planned. If you think you might have a kid in the next five years, might as well get that bigger car now instead of dealing with resale value loss and all that.
Resale value on a sedan………. yeah not going to happen, but the two best brands for that would be Toyota, and Toyota (Lexus). If you really care about resale value, don’t buy a sedan. I know this because I always buy used sedans that are 4 yars old and at least 50% depricated. Ouch went to Buddica and nothing in your price/age range. If you cast a wider net you could definately get a Corolla or Prius Used from a Toyota dealer. Still everyone is right Minivans are sooooo much better with kids. So easy to change daipers in. And the little ones can’t bang doors into other cars.
If I was you, I would first decide on the car I want to buy and then I would look for it on carsensor and goonet.
