Miyashita park to the right, and the Shibuya Scramble and Google building straight ahead. I think this current look of the city may have happened within the last 5-7 years.

I can hear the Oasis song playing by just looking at this picture.
You’re right to love Shibuya – no other place like it in the world.
The future was carbrained? /s
Shibuya station area is like the modern version of [this illustration](https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroFuturism/s/HTFu9M3nWO). It’s really fun to just get lost in there (unlike getting lost in Shinjuku which is significantly less fun).
The only other neighborhood I can think of that compares is Umeda in Osaka.
I’m with you, it looks beautiful, colorful, vivid, alive.
Fantastic picture!
So beautiful! I miss it everyday
Miyashita only opened relatively recently (About 6 years ago) and honestly I preferred the elevated park that was there before. I used to walk through it heading from Harajuku when I was in the city. At the station (South end) was just some stairs that led into a little alley; they’ve preserved the little 4/5 man Izakaya, but before it was much more cosy. it wasn’t as fancy, but it much more character and felt lived in.
The roof garden of Miyashita still has a green area as a nod to the previous park, but naturally there’s a dam. Starbucks there too.
