Ootoya is the best food chain

Man, beautiful rice, perfectly grilled fish, and nice not overdosing in sodium miso soup. The menu is also decorated nicely with so much nutritional value gradings so it makes it easy to see what you're actually putting into your belly.

I been to Japan 6 times, and only discovered Ootoya on this most recent trip.

I hate fancy dining and it's all a scam so I avoid super up ur own arse omakase stuff.

The only unfortunate thing is the lack of rice refills, but to be fair, the prices are still fair? I used to love Yayoi ken, but it seems their good quality ain't so good anymore? The photo to reality discrepancy almost matches McDonald's…

Does anyone else agree and if not what are your recommendations? Like what are your go to reliable comfort meals?
