Does anyone know why the city speakers in Shimokitazawa have been playing this awful noise lately? It sounds kind of like guitar at first but then turns horrible and screechy really fast. They play it at intervals all day, according to my friend who lives there. I heard it the other night and it was awful.

Maybe some alternative/indie band? Haven’t heard it but just a guess given the neighborhood in question lol

Plot twist: it can only be heard by dead people.
I used to live nearby but I don’t recall anything like this. There’s occasionally like a smooth jazz-sounding guitar lick that plays over the speakers, but nothing like what you’re describing. My first guess would be that whatever they’re using to play the sound is just worn out…?
