13-day Osaka/Kyoto Itinerary Check

Hello! My boyfriend and I are going to Osaka for our anniversary trip, and I wanted to know if the itinerary we planned is good, if there are any suggested places to visit/activities to do, or if we need to adjust and lessen some activities. We actually need help filling up some of the days, so if you guys have any suggestions please let me know!

We've been to Osaka before and don't plan to return to Osaka Castle and Shinsekai/Tsutenkaku. Dotonbori and Sennichimae we're not including as we'll probably pass by every now and then. We're also planning a lot of half-day trips!

Days 1-6 (Osaka)

Day 1
– Arrival (late afternoon, so we'll just head to the bnb and explore nearby)

Day 2
– Daruma Temple
– TeamLabs Botanical Garden

Day 3
– USJ

Day 4
– Osaka Aquarium

Day 5
– Minoo Park (we're thinking this will be a half-day trip?)

Day 6
– Kurashiki (also thinking half-day, but could this possibly turn into a whole-day?)
– Shopping day

Days 7-13 (Kyoto)

Day 7
– Transfer to Kyoto, mid-day check-in
– Kinkaku-ji
– Shopping day

Day 8
(This is our anniversary day, so we're hoping for some activities to do, like ring-making or a nice meal for dinner)
– Ring-making (do you guys have recommended places? we're planning to go to glanta)
– Sagano Train Ride
– Bamboo Forest

Day 9
– Fushimi Inari
– Daigoji Temple
– Uji half-day trip (Nintendo Museum and Byodo-in Temple)

Day 10
– Amanohashidate half-day trip
– Ine half-day trip

Day 11
– Ghibli Park (if we're lucky to get tickets! do you guys have other suggested activites in the case we don't)

Day 12
– Nara half-day trip
– Ikoma Sanjo Amusement Park
– Goyomatsu Shonyudo/Dorogawa Onsen

Day 13

  1. Do check your itinerary for Day 10. Kyoto to Amanohashidate is about 2 hours one-way on the Hashidate Limited Express. The first direct train arrives at Amanohashidate at 1040hrs, so it does not give you much time to see much, if you intend to return to Kyoto that day.

  2. Nara really needs at least a full day. The very interesting circuit around Nara Park takes half a day alone.

  3. I Think you are missing kiyomizu-deru in Kyoto itinerary – also good to go as early as possible to enjoy it quietly

Also do fushimi Inari as early as possible as there is a lot of stairs, not comfortable walking with crowds
