Regarding obtaining concert tickets as an international student

Heya, got a question, I just found out there’s a event (Uma Musume 7th Event at Ariake Arena) on June 20-21 that I’d love to attend while I'm studying abroad over the summer.

I have housing situated, and I'm trying to get tickets through the official site and Lawson Ticket/Rotike, but they require a Japanese mobile number, and it doesn't seem possible to even enter any ticket lotteries without one. I could potentially get a Japanese number once I'm there but I won't be there until early June.

Is it possible to get tickets like these without a Japanese phone number? Once I'm there and get a local SIM card to register, is it realistic to expect any tickets to be left?

I’ve been looking forward to the trip for a while and it'd be a bummer to miss out on the concert just because of a requirement like this, so any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

  1. I have no idea how likely it is that particular event will sell out. There usually isn’t a way around the Japanese phone number requirement for buying tickets. Some events will make a separate page available for overseas customers to buy tickets, but it’s not as common. If you don’t see such a page available, then the tickets are only intended for residents of Japan.

If you feel that the event will sell out before you arrive in Japan and get a phone number here, then you may need to look into proxy services.

  2. Based on the [website](https://ts7th.umamusume.jp/#ticket) I think you’re a bit late unfortunately. The lottery is done by April 24th and Lawson Ticket sales end April 17th (also lottery). I think at this point your best bet is finding someone who is selling an extra ticket on social media so you can enter with them. This can be done nearer to the date (bc some people cancel/friends unable to come etc). But you’ll need Japanese proficiency for this one. Try network with the international fans too with the same goal but the chance is smaller.
