I think I messed up our Okinawa plan and I would like to ask for your advice.
Arrival May 12- 16:50 pm
Departure May 14 – 12 noon
So technically, we only have one full day (May 13). Our goal is to visit Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium for the kids and hopefully go to the beach as well. But it feels like we’ll be really rushed.
We can’t rebook anything since everything is already set, and it would cost more to change all the flights, hotel, etc.
Please help me plan our trip.

Where in Okinawa will you arrive?
It depends a lot where is your hotel and if you have a rental car or not, but aquarium and beach are totally feasible in one day.
Ugh this sub is insufferable, it’s nothing but weather questions and tourists panicking because of their own piss poor planning.
Plan your own trip, it’s not difficult to look at google maps and find things to do.
Where are you staying, first of all? Naha? If so, Kokusai is very accessible from there.
About Churaumi Aquarium, you can go to Sesoko beach if you’d like to save time by not taking a ferry to, let’s say, Minna Island, or on the opposite end of Okinawa, any of the Kerama islands.
Yeah, it’s short, but you can make it work. Reserve the full day only for the Aquarium and the beach, then don’t engage in FOMO. Set you priorities straight, do you want to see the castle? American Village (although I don’t recommend, honestly)?
Naminoue Shrine was THE experience for me, and the beach is lovely too, albeit small.
No worries. There are beaches right out in front of Charaumi Aquarium. I remember Bise Beach being just North of Expo Park, a few minutes walking distance.
You did rush the trip. But you do have two sunsets, Friday and Saturday to enjoy. There is always a close beach to see the sunsets. Find some great seafood, enjoy the beaches, aquarium, and enjoy old Rt 58 along the West Coast from Nakadomari to Nago.
Nago Pineapple Park for the kids isn’t too far away too.
Getting to the aquarium takes two hours by car or three by bus and can easily take longer if there’s traffic. If you go that’s basically the only thing you’re going to do that day. Unless you already got an international driving license, you’re gonna be taking the bus.
Personally, I would give up on going to the aquarium. See Shuri Castle and go to the beach. That’s a better plan.
There is a beach park near to the aquarium.
Jump in tank with the fish and swim while you’re there
In the future if you’re doing an international trip you need more than 3 days you need a week minimum to properly enjoy such a trip.
If you go to Ocean Expo Park Beach that’s right next to the aquarium you can hit both but if you have to travel to any other part of the island then you’ll be rushed.
Your other options is to make the beach the bulk of your day; and then go to the aquarium for just the last couple hours it’s open. In my experience there’s not very many people there in the last 2-3 hours it’s open so you can actually go through much faster. And it might be cheaper to enter after a certain time of day too, look it up. Tip for jf you do that though, check the final dolphin show time in the afternoon and do that BEFORE you enter the aquarium.
Super rushed, but doable if you have a car. You should do sea in itoman the day you arrive, next day churaumi, then there are some capes in Motobu where you can dive and shit
