  1. Hi I just wanted to see if I translated well into Japanese for a short musical clip attached to a drawing I made, I wanted to capture more of a pleading and sad tone to the grammatical structure and the context mattered to me: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVJy8TwPiGE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVJy8TwPiGE)

  2. Hi! I’m a very beginner Japanese learner and I’ve been studying for a few months.

At the beginning it felt really difficult, but I feel like I’m slowly starting to get used to some basics. Still, I sometimes worry that I might be learning things incorrectly or building bad habits without realizing it.

I really enjoy Japanese and I like practicing it, especially reading and writing. I just want to make sure I’m going in the right direction.

If anyone has advice for beginners or things you wish you knew earlier, I’d really appreciate it. I’d also be happy to talk with other learners and hear about your experiences studying Japanese.

  3. Last year I started learning Japanese for a couple of weeks, I learned Kana and I started reading the grammar book it was written in Kana and I struggled but I managed to get through the first couple of grammar lessons.

What I learned was minimal I understand that but it was fun while it lasted. I stopped cause I didn’t have enough time between my full time job and I’m also doing my masters part time. But learning Japanese made me happy I enjoyed learning it felt like I’m choosing something i like doing for the first time honestly.

I planned to get back to learning Japanese properly in two years once I get the degree, but I was thinking maybe I can learn some kanji for the time being since it can all be managed by anki and i can fit 20 minutes to review and learn some kanji. Like a couple of kanji’s a month so when I go back to learning I can have some kind of a head start if that makes sense?

So is it counter intuitive to learn only vocab/kanji without any grammar?

If so please recommend an ANKI deck that can be very helpful.

  4. Hi, I’ve been studying for a solid 2 years and am currently working on getting a degree in Japanese language and literature. I’ve finished both Genki I and Genki II, where can I go next to improve? Any other textbooks people would recommend?

  5. Hi I’m looking for the shinkansen N3/ N2 grammar/ reading / kanji/ vocab. Does someone knows where I can get the pdf version ? any gdrive link ? Thank you
