Is that still a good choice to live in Japan with business manager VISA?

I moved to Japan one year ago with my family and like here so much, but recently I am so anxious about my VISA renew because of the new policy for business manager since last October, is there others have related experience to renew same VISA after new policy released? As foreigner I am afraid it is really difficult to run a business here, especially language is still a big barrier for me. I would like to hear some advice from experienced people if possible, thank you.

  1. Well, I think you saw the news. Applications dropped by 97% and businesses are closing down already.

The only way for you to stay here with your current visa is to be able to meet the new criteria I am afraid.

  2. Are you able to meet the new requirements for renewal? That seems to be a bigger issue than if it’s a “good choice” or not, since the decision may be made for you.

  3. If you meet the new requirements there’s no problem getting the visa and it’s a solid visa to have although if you ever want to do anything else it’s extremely limiting (you’ll have to qualify for a different category, it only allows you to run your business). It’s also extremely unlikely to get “more struct” although I encourage you to transfer to PR as soon as you qualify.

If you are currently on the visa and your business doesn’t meet the new requirements you need a plan that immigration agrees will let you meet those requirements by 2028 to get renewed. They’re rejecting renewals of people who have valid business visas but their business doesn’t meet the new capital and employee requirements and don’t have what immigration thinks is a clear path to meeting them.

  4. It’s probably better to try for a different visa that will allow you the freedom to do as you please… though it’s harder to obtain.

  5. This has to be a troll post

    No details

Nobody can say anything with so little info to go on

If this is real, and the lack of details is due to you being stressed out then I’m sorry, but you need to provide more info

  6. Seems like a constant uphill battle full of anxiety. I honestly hate the idea of living one year visa to one year visa.

  7. Based on your comments so far, it looks like you are here on a Business Management visa but not actively running a business.

Whenever anyone asks what kinda of business you are running, how it’s doing or anything like that, it appears you are being evasive, though that could be a language barrier issue.

If as it appears you are not actively running a business, the recent rule changes are specifically targeting issues with Visas like your visa and yiu should be nervous.

If this is incorrect and you are actively running a business then it comes down to a few things.
    – How has your revenue been in your first year? Is it growing and you can show a path to profitability within a couple years? If so that will help.
    – Have you been meeting the investment requirements per year? Can you meet the new higher investment requirements starting with your renewal?
    – You will have to hire a couple of local workers. What will you have them do as part of the business? How can yiu make it align with the business proposal that helped you obtain the visa in the first place?
