Where to buy/mount kei car tires?

EDIT 2: Solved. Went to Autobacs and and just got 2 store brand ones plus labor/disposal for ¥13,800. (In the future though, for just a few yen more, you can go to Bridgestone and get better rated tires.)

EDIT 1 to add: cheap and same day.

I’m diving through Nagano towards Yokohama and just realized my front two tires are threadbare on the edges. Back ones are completely fine (I rotated them after winter even, so yikes).

Also, when I get my shaken inspection next year, will having two different tire brands be a problem? I know replacing all four at once is better, but two at once is good for now.

  1. No it doesn’t matter for shaken … the cheapest way is to buy from Amazon and have a shop put them on … but for a kei car you can have a shop like Yellow hat or Autobacs do it .. it’s not that expensive

  2. Usually the larger gas stations that can do shaken/oil change can rotate tires or sell you whatever stock they have on hand. Additionally there are autobacs and Bridgestone retail shops in the large towns that probably have a wide array of tire selection and can swap the new tires on your car on the spot

Are you driving in summer on winter tires? Because winter tires will wear out FAST on hot summer roads.

If you want it done same day, pull into the first Autobacs or Yellow Hat you see. You can get store brand tires for cheap and they’ll mount them for cheap. It’s a kei car, not a hypercar, so they’ll be fine.
