Your least favorite thing to eat is osechi ryori? What don’t you like about eating it?
What a weird title. Fishing for a reaction.
I get it, osechi is kind of like fruitcake. But why not come up with your own ideal osechi? Put in your favorite things? It doesn’t have to keep for 3 days at room temperature anymore, we have refrigeration now. You can make whatever you want.
If you don’t like it, i’ll take it, looks delicious 😀
I really wanna try osechi cause it looks sooo good! I was gonna order 一人お節 from rakuten but my friend was like nah, it doesn’t even taste that great 😂
Anyway, don’t let the ignorant comments get to you, OP. People love shouting about things they have no idea about
Outside of Kuromame and Shiruko / Ozoni… none of it is really great. I always feel tempted to order one of the expensive “Western” or “Chinese” ones… but the prices are just so O.o
It looks pretty but I agree, not a big fan. We don’t usually do osechi for new year.
Lol same. It’s much better while drinking lots of sake but depends on who you are with too.
If you made all of that from raw ingredients, very nice job on the cooking.
Happy New Year!
I love it! I made my osechi by hand last year and it was an awesome experience, too. If I lived closer to family, I would do this every year just based on how much was prepared versus how much was put in the box. So this year I picked up a mini pre-made one 🌸 良いお年を!
No kazunoko?! Looks beautiful, well done!
It looks beautiful!!
I agree traditional osechi isn’t my favorite either but the good thing about homemade osechi is you can control the portions/taste of the individual things! (I need more “refreshing” food so am making a huge portion of namasu)
Hope you enjoy 🙂
which part, all of it?
I made namasu and nishime this year. Granted I live in America so some of the ingredients are hard to get, but I will just leave out anything I don’t enjoy.
I do want to try my hand at kuromame and ozoni, though. Soba on new year’s eve has become a favorite, too.
