Seen those at 7-11. I’ve had the ones in Japan and I seriously doubt these are going to be on that same level and I don’t think I want to risk it given the price.
Interesting! Probably not the same quality or flavor at all, unfortunately.
$5.50 and smaller lmao, the cost of freedom I guess?
Japanese ones don’t have crusts on
I’ve gotten this. While still better than American egg sandwiches, the bread isn’t quite right and neither is the freshness. Price is a bit much too. Overall it’s probably 6/10, where I would get again but only if my other options sucked.
I’ve had 卵サンド at all the kombini brands in Japan. The version at American 7-11s isn’t terrible. It’s pretty good compared to what we’ve gotten in the past, but it’s still lacking.
The milk bread is pretty spot on. But the eggs are rubbery and the mayo is different.
What’s the usual cost for one of these in Japan vs the $5.49 price tag from OP?
I believe Japanese 7-11 (or its stock holding company) owns American 7-11 company. Yes the child bought its parent years ago. Now a big fund in America has been bidding to buy all or some of 7-11 Japan. A dog eating another dog business here!
awesome! i keep checking, and cannot wait!
Where’s my spaghetti and potato korokke on a hot dog bun? I need my carb on carb on carb action!
Imagine if they imported these all the way from Japan
There’s something about it that I can’t quite put my finger on – like, it doesn’t look like egg salad, it looks like solid butter
Just got back from Japan and theirs were 230 Yen which is $1.49 US
Ive had two of these so far they are as close as we are going to get here. They were pretty good.
I don’t see in my store. OP where you located
$5.49 is quite expensive for 2 slices if bread and egg mayonnaise.
fucking 5.49$???
Baby steps.
I’ve seen this in California 7-11s since 2021. Where are you located? Maybe they are just rolling it out to other States?
GTFO!!!
oh this looks nice—
>$5.49
WTF

Trash bread, otherwise good but bread is like 50% of a sandwich so they get an F
Japan actually cares about food quality and we don’t so this might be a one-way ticket to the bathroom 🥲
Japanese style? Close. But i guarantee not Japanese quality.
Need the milk bread
It’s gotta be Kewpie mayo or this is cultural appropriation.
With the crust on? Maybe the dub enjoyers will like them.
The bread alone tells me this isn’t close to the real thing
7-Eleven has stated that they were bringing staff over from Japan to help setup the facility that would prepare Japanese food items, so I am a little surprised it is not the same. The ingredients seem pretty simple.
But was the bread actually fluffy??
They’re horrible. Had one the day after getting back from japan a few days ago.
Just because it says Japanese style on it doesn’t mean it’ll be anything like the ones in Japan
Saw that the other day. How was it?
We’ve been wondering about this. Where are you located?
Looks gross
We’ve had these in Colorado forever and it doesn’t have that sticker on it lol. It’s just an egg salad sandwich
Looks nothing like a 7-11 sandwich in Japan. And being American it’s probably not even real egg.
Feeling only covering about half of the bread and only on the cut part? Otherwise it’s not really Japanese style 😆
The bread is too thick, the crust is on, and there is a huge amount of plastic waste. I’m going to guess it probably doesn’t even taste the same. The price is about 2x of that in Japan.
They’re using the marketing ploy of being “JDM” (obviously it’s not a car but it caters to the people that fantasize about Japan).
That bread looks dry
That prices is garbage. I also see crust. So I’m skeptical it’s as good. But the biggest problem is that these are so expensive that no one buys them, so they sit. Thus they are often not very fresh.
If its made in america its not japanese style lol
It’s the same as the ones I was buying after the first announced change a couple of years ago. Maybe a touch sweeter. Same bread.
They just started sticking the “japanese style” on it.
Still delicious, though!
It’d be interesting to compare the length of the ingredients lists
