








These fish heads were only 100yen at my local supermarket, so I could not resist buying them and cooking in a combination of 160ml water, 120ml sake, 3TB mirin, ginger, gobo, 3TB soy sauce, and 3TB sugar.
First, dropped the fish heads in boiling water for a few seconds to loosen and remove the remaining scales. Then cooked for 15 minutes in the above. Reduced the liquid to about ⅓ of the original, then served.
Groceries are so cheap in Japan! Total Food cost about 200 yen.
