As part of my global cooking project, I want to include the 8 food regions of Japan – starting off with Kanto. (Pic from “Japan in general” meal on my project, not for Kanto) Can you give me feedback on the dishes I chose (text below)?


Hello! I'm currently running a project in which I cook dinners from every country – and for some countries I decided to split their cuisines into their more distinct regions, Japan being one of them!

I already did "general" Japan as a country for my project, so that's the pic for a point of reference. 🙂

Now I gotta start somewhere and I decided to get my Japanese cooking wings with Kanto and some classic Gyudon. These would be what I'm serving for the meal:

  • Gyudon
  • Veggie miso soup (aburaage/snap peas)
  • pickled cabbage
  • broccoli gomaae
  • simmered aburaage and spinach

I did try to research what would be working well but with all of these cuisines, I'm no expert so I'm really looking forward to your feedback! 🙂
