My favorite “Umami Salt” from Japan Rokunosuke.


Hi! I’m a native Japanese and I wanted to share my absolute favorite salt.

Unlike regular salt, this contains Kombu (kelp), Shiitake mushrooms, and Dried Scallops. It’s packed with natural Umami! Just put it on hot rice (Onigiri), boiled eggs, or grilled chicken. You don't need any other seasoning. If you find this at a Japanese grocery store, please grab it. You won't regret it!

  1. amen. i absolutely love this particular brand. there are various flavors such as macha tea (the salt color is green). i found this salt to the very best for onigis and musubis. thanks for posting.

  2. Thank you for showing this! I am not going back to Japan until 2029, but I really love the ingredients. My mom had heart issues, so trying to limit sodium intake. And anyway to include elements of seaweed I am for. Bet it’s killer on a broiled fish.

  3. Is there any way to get it in the US? I searched it up on google but does anyone have a reputable website that I can use?
