Still working… but today’s small reset dinner in Tokyo

I’ve been a night person since I was about 15.

I’m still trying to fix my schedule, but it’s honestly hard.

So dinner has become my little reset time between work.

Tonight I cooked a lot.

Slow-seared steak, my favorite vegetables grilled until soft,

and Kenchin-jiru quietly simmering on the stove.

I added plenty of sake lees to the soup.

It’s good for health and skin, and it has such a comforting flavor.

Rice, three kinds of sauces, and warm soup.

It feels really satisfying.

For me, balance isn’t really about nutrients.

It’s about how the meal makes me feel.

What’s your favorite “reset” meal?

  1. Kenchin-jiru is a traditional Japanese soup with root vegetables, tofu, and sometimes sake lees.

My mother used to make this when I was a child.

I can’t see her right now, but this soup still feels like home to me.

Still learning English — thank you for reading.

  2. ボリュームたっぷりのお肉と野菜、それに酒粕けんちん汁もあってヘルシーで美味しそうですね!😊
